A Maserati with Libyan plates, reported stolen in Italy, was seized at the commercial port of Salerno. The vehicle was identified by the State Police during checks on passengers and vehicles disembarking from a ship arriving from Tunis.
The operation is part of "Jad Mobile," an initiative promoted by the European Union Agency Frontex to combat illicit vehicle trafficking. The investigations were conducted by the Highway Police and the Maritime and Air Border Police. Documentation checks and database searches allowed the vehicle's illicit origin to be traced, having been stolen on Italian soil.
Following the checks, the driver was charged with suspected money laundering. The Maserati and its registration certificate were seized. This operation is part of a cooperative effort to identify stolen vehicles and prevent their movement via international maritime routes.
