A young man of Algerian origin, born in 2003, was arrested in Aversa following a car theft from a parked car in the courtyard of a private residence. The operation was carried out overnight by Carabinieri from the Aversa Company's Mobile Radio Unit.
According to the police's reconstruction, the 23-year-old allegedly entered the courtyard of a house on Via Clanio, stealing several personal belongings from the parked car. After the theft, he fled on foot through the local streets.
The Carabinieri immediately launched an investigation, locating him near the home. During the operation, they also recovered the stolen items, which were later returned to their rightful owners.
The young man, already required to report to the judicial police at the Naples-Vasto police station, was arrested and taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison. He remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities, pending the summary hearing.
The proceedings are currently in the preliminary investigation phase. The suspect is therefore presumed innocent until a final conviction is issued.
