A new incident at the PPG Industries tank farm in Caivano has prompted an emergency response team. Safety measures, precautionary measures for the public, and ongoing monitoring are underway.

Caivano: Emergency meeting following new incident at PPG tanks; safety and self-protection measures implemented.
A new incident involving the tanks at the PPG Industries plant in Caivano, in the ASI area, triggered an emergency meeting convened by the Prefect of Naples. The incident involved a tank already affected by the previous incident, located in an area under judicial seizure. The intervention of the Fire Department ensured the safety of the area and the containment of the material spill.
The operational meeting was attended by the Campania Region's Councilor for Civil Protection, Fiorella Zabatta; the Mayor of Caivano, Antonio Angelino; the Director of ARPAC, Dario Mirella; the Deputy Commander of the Naples Fire Department, Armando De Rosa; representatives of the ASL Napoli 2 Nord and the police. The Prefecture of Caserta was also present.
As a precaution, the mayor issued an urgent, contingent ordinance suspending nighttime operations at companies in the ASI zone and urged residents to adopt self-protection measures: limit travel, keep doors and windows closed, and use FFP2 masks if necessary.
The coordination committee will continue to monitor the situation closely, and a new meeting is scheduled for Monday at the Prefecture to provide updates and coordinate any further interventions.
