Castel Volturno, escape from Carabinieri stop: 20-year-old reported for drugs and possession of offensive objects

Yesterday evening, along Via Domiziana at kilometer marker 38, a Honda SH motorcycle was intercepted by the Castel Volturno Carabinieri. The driver, a twenty-year-old local man, failed to stop at the checkpoint and attempted to evade the checks with dangerous maneuvers, only stopping after a brief pursuit.

Seizure and investigations

During the search, four packages containing hashish, with a gross weight of approximately 14 grams, a knife with a 7-centimeter blade, and €345 in cash were found. The motorcycle was administratively seized and placed in an authorized storage facility.

The 20-year-old, already known to law enforcement, was charged at large with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, possession and possession of offensive objects, and reckless flight from a police stop. He was also charged with traffic violations for driving without the required driving permits and lack of insurance. The competent judicial authority was notified by the Castel Volturno Carabinieri station, which will take further action.
