Castel Volturno, Carabinieri checks: two young men reported

Yesterday evening, on Via Pergusa in Castel Volturno, a Fiat 500 was stopped by Carabinieri officers from the Mondragone Territorial Unit. Inside were two young residents of the municipality: a 20-year-old and a 25-year-old.

At the sight of the soldiers, the two showed clear signs of agitation, which led to a search that led to the discovery of narcotics and a sum of cash.

The search revealed 1,50 grams of cocaine, divided into three cellophane packages, and 4,14 grams of marijuana, in three other packages. A total of €395 in cash was also seized.

The drugs and cash were seized and turned over to the Judicial Authority: the drugs will be sent to the Crime Records Office and the cash will be placed in a judicial deposit book.

The two young men were reported at large for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing, in competition.

The operation is part of a targeted effort by the Mondragone Carabinieri Territorial Unit to combat drug dealing in the Castel Volturno area, monitoring major roads and monitoring suspicious behavior during traffic checks.

Those reported remain at the disposal of the judicial authorities; any liability will be determined in subsequent phases of the proceedings, respecting the presumption of innocence.

The activities aim to curb drug dealing in the area, particularly in the municipality of Castel Volturno, through checks at major road junctions and surveillance during checkpoints.
