

Fausto Lamparelli
Naples – Fausto Lamparelli will be the new police commissioner of Naples. Married with a son, Lamparelli is leaving Florence, where he arrived on December 16, 2024, and returning to Naples, where he previously headed the Flying Squad. He had previously held the same position in Ascoli Piceno, Latina, Bari, and Genoa, before arriving in Naples.
In 2018, he served as Director of the Forensic Police Service at the Central Anti-Crime Directorate of the State Police in Rome. In 2019, he was appointed Director of the Central Operations Service of the State Police, with national responsibility for coordinating the central and peripheral units involved in combating mafia-type organized crime, common crime, and crimes of serious social concern. He has also collaborated with the investigative departments of numerous countries on transnational investigations.
Lamparelli succeeds Maurizio Agricola, Director General of Public Safety, who was promoted to Prefect by the Council of Ministers. Agricola has been placed on secondment at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and appointed as Special Government Commissioner for the area of the municipality of Castel Volturno.
