Benevento Police Chief Giovanni Leuci has issued nine orders banning access to urban areas, known as DACURs, against nine young people, including two minors. The orders follow the conclusion of an investigation conducted by the Anti-Crime Police Division into incidents of brawls that occurred in the Sannio area.
Six of the nine DACUs involve youths who allegedly took part in a violent brawl that broke out on the afternoon of July 22nd near a bar in Vitulano. According to the reconstruction, the fight arose over trivial matters between two groups of youths from Vitulano and Tocco Caudio.
The confrontation quickly escalated into a violent brawl, during which the participants kicked and punched each other for several minutes. Two minors were among those targeted.
The measures were adopted by the police commissioner following investigations by the Anti-Crime Police. The DACUR, also known as an urban DASPO, prohibits access to certain city areas in the cases and under the conditions established by the order, with the aim of preventing the recurrence of incidents that compromise public safety.
