Private healthcare: Hospitalization ban lifted: Uil Fp expresses satisfaction

The system of scheduled hospitalizations in accredited private healthcare facilities affiliated with AIOP Campania is back in full operation. The decision to lift the suspension was welcomed by Uil Fp Napoli e Campania, which calls it a positive sign in the dispute affecting the sector.

"AIOP's decision to lift the suspension of scheduled hospitalizations is a positive sign and goes exactly in the direction we, as a union, have hoped for from the very beginning," says Vincenzo Torino, general secretary of Uil Fp Naples and Campania.

For the union, ensuring continuity of services is a priority to avoid negative consequences for citizens and access to care. "Ensuring continuity of services is essential to avoid depriving citizens of healthcare, thus restricting a fundamental right like the right to health," Torino emphasizes.

Uil Fp therefore urges all parties involved to maintain the dialogue at the institutional level, putting their respective demands on the back burner when they risk impacting the continuity of services.

"Given these risks, any biased claims, however legitimate, must be put on the back burner, whether they come from workers or from companies that are part of the accredited healthcare system," adds the secretary.

According to Turin, the mobilization of the trade unions and the willingness expressed by the President of the Campania Region, Roberto Fico, contributed to the reopening of institutional dialogue. "It is thanks to the timely and determined mobilization of the trade unions and the willingness expressed by President Roberto Fico that an immediate meeting was held in the Region, allowing the reopening of institutional dialogue," he states.

Finally, Uil Fp reiterates the need to keep both patient protection and the conditions of workers in the sector at the center of the discussions. "People's health and the protection of those who work in the sector must remain at the center of the agenda: discussion and accountability on the part of all parties are the only way forward to provide concrete solutions to the community and stability for the entire regional healthcare system," Turin concludes.
