Teatro Troisi opens its season with Benvenuti in Casa Esposito.

From October 15 to November 1, 2026, the Teatro Troisi in Naples opens its season with Benvenuti in Casa Esposito. The comedy, loosely based on Pino Imperatore's bestseller, is written by Alessandro Siani, Pino Imperatore, and Paolo Caiazzo and directed by Siani himself. It stars Giovanni Esposito and Nunzia Schiano, alongside Susy Del Giudice, Salvatore Misticone, Gennaro Silvestro, Carmen Pommella, Giampiero Schiano, and Aurora Benitozzi.

The plot recounts the misadventures of Tonino Esposito, an aspiring criminal who aspires to inherit the legacy of his father Gennaro, a powerful boss in the Sanità neighborhood, but who often finds himself failing. Between family tensions and confrontations with Pietro De Luca, known as 'o Tarramoto, the criminal enterprise turns into a series of tragicomic misadventures.

An unusual encounter with the skull of a Spanish captain, found in the Fontanelle Cemetery, causes the skull to take on the appearance of a ghost and end up moving into Tonino's house, becoming an unlikely accomplice to his misadventures. A family that is not silent revolves around him: Patrizia, Gaetano, Assunta, Manuela, Tina, and even Sansone, an iguana who participates in the household affairs.

Benvenuti in Casa Esposito thus inaugurates Troisi's season by entrusting comedy with a non-trivial task: to tell the story of a crime stripped of its rhetoric, reduced to the grotesque proportions of its protagonists.
