The news in brief
- Two men from Lusciano, a 44-year-old and a 47-year-old, were arrested for three robberies that took place in the town center, in which the former threatened the owners with a knife while the latter acted as an accomplice.
- The investigation, supported by surveillance cameras, witness statements, and the discovery of clothing and stolen goods, has provided strong evidence against the two, but the possible presence of other accomplices is suspected.
LLusciano – A string of robberies in the heart of town, three heists in a month, and now two hands in handcuffs. Carabinieri from the Lusciano station have executed a precautionary detention order issued by the investigating judge of the Naples North Court, at the request of the Aversa Prosecutor's Office, against two local men: a 44-year-old and a 47-year-old.
The gang operated methodically: the 44-year-old, armed with a knife, entered the premises and threatened the owners to hand over the money, while his accomplice, the 47-year-old, acted as lookout and driver, ready to flee in the car.
The intended victims? A pharmacy, a tobacconist, and a betting shop, all hit last May in the center of Lusciano.
The investigation: cameras, witnesses and records
The investigations, conducted by the military of the Lusciano station, reconstructed the three episodes by cross-referencing various elements:
Images from surveillance cameras (public and private)
Testimonies from victims and bystanders
Analysis of telephone records and databases
The collaboration of witnesses was particularly valuable, allowing us to reconstruct not only the moments of the robberies, but also the phases preceding and following them.
The damning evidence: clothes and stolen goods
During the searches, the Carabinieri found the clothes worn during the robberies and part of the stolen goods taken from the shopkeepers, evidence that nailed the two accused.
Now the two will end up in prison, while in Lusciano there's hope for a return to peace. But the question arises: were there other accomplices? The investigation may not be concluded yet.

It's incredible how such things can happen in a small community. I wonder why there's been so much crime lately. Law enforcement needs to do more to protect citizens and find other perpetrators.
