Three screenwriters for the presentation of Laura Sabatino's novel "Le pietre in tasca" (Augh! editions), Friday 10 May, 18 pm, at the AM Bookstore in Naples (Via Duomo, 93). The author, at her second book after the acclaimed "La distrazione" and screenwriter for television and cinema, talks with screenwriters Francesca Alvino and Vincenzo Terracciano about the relationship between writing and life, between reality and fiction, introducing the public to the mechanisms, compromises, illusions and the profession of film and television writing, through the adventures of Guido, the protagonist of "Le pietre in tasca". A journey behind the scenes of fiction and film told by three professionals who have often crossed paths. Readings by actress Chiara De Simone.
Guido is a thirty-year-old screenwriter who writes independent films and shares his dreams of fame with his director friend Luisanna. In 2002, the two friends are at a crossroads: continue with their freelance work or give in to the offers of television, which at that time began to produce series in large quantities? Although the dream of cinema is of vital importance to both of them, for practical reasons they choose television. Guido finds himself working for Marta Vinciguerra, a former actress of modest success, now a producer. While the stories he writes for her are full of twists, extreme love stories and plot twists bordering on believability, his private life always seems stuck at one point: his separation from his wife Elena. The years pass and Guido must confront the awareness of his own mediocrity, at work and outside. Until, unpredictably, his destiny once again becomes intertwined with that of Luisanna and Elena, making him think that - after all - a happy ending is still possible.
Laura Sabatino, finalist at the Nastri d'Argento with “Ribelli per caso” and Premio Flaiano for her collaboration on the screenplay of “Il resto di niente”, also wrote the screenplay, together with Vincenzo Terracciano and Fabio Troiano, for the film against bullying “Bene ma non bellissimo” recently released in theaters. For television, Laura Sabatino has worked on several series, including “Caterina e le sue figlie”, Un Posto al sole”, La Squadra”.
Over the years, there have been numerous opportunities to work with Vincenzo Terracciano, including in the films he directed: “Tris di donne e abiti nupziali”, “Per tutto il tempo che ci resta” and “Ribelli per caso”.
Francesca Alvino is a story editor, script editor and screenwriter. She currently works for “Un posto al sole”.
