He had already failed his driving theory test several times, but this time he allegedly attempted a shortcut by relying on artificial intelligence. A 29-year-old Neapolitan man was reported by the State Police after being caught using a technological system to answer quizzes during the test at the Avellino Motor Vehicle Office.
One of the examiners was suspicious of the young man's behavior. He was using a cell phone equipped with an artificial intelligence system capable of reading the test questions and providing the answers. A true high-tech "helper," it was supposed to help him pass the test after previous failed attempts.
Following the discovery, State Police officers arrived in the courtroom, seized the device, and reported the twenty-nine-year-old. However, the case doesn't end with the action against the candidate. Investigators are conducting further investigations to identify the person who allegedly procured the device for him, which was allegedly paid a thousand euros.
The investigation will clarify who provided the system and what role it played in organizing the exam attempt. Meanwhile, the case brings attention to the use of artificial intelligence to circumvent verification procedures, even in official contexts such as driving tests.
