Pagani, Villani (M5s): 'Safety risk for children at Criscuolo school'

This morning, Five Star Movement MP Virginia Villani, accompanied by Pagani city councilor Santino Desiderio, inspected the Third Educational District and the Criscuolo Middle School in Pagani (SA). Regarding this, the Honorable Villani stated: "First of all, I thank the school administrators for the warm welcome I received this morning. I am extremely concerned about the road situation and the safety risks to which the children at the Collodi complex of the Terzo Circolo Didattico of Pagani are exposed, as the school is located near a major road. In consultation with Councilor Santino Desiderio, we will propose an alternative solution to the Pagani administration to minimize the inconvenience and risks to the children. Furthermore, thanks to the availability and professionalism of the school administrator, Attilio Trusi, we also had the opportunity to inspect the Collodi gymnasium, which has been declared unfit for use due to infiltration from rising groundwater. Regarding this issue, we will explore the possibility of reviving an old funding request made by the previous administration or submitting an alternative funding request to guarantee the use and enjoyment of the facility for the children, as well as for local sports associations." "We have also addressed," Villani continued, "the requests from principal Paola Sabatino of the Criscuolo Middle School regarding the need to redesign some parts of the building. For me, attention to local schools remains a priority, as their principals often face critical structural issues." "Therefore, the support of municipal, provincial, regional, and state governments is needed to ensure a safe and welcoming school. Finally," Villani concluded, "this morning, due to organizational reasons, it was not possible to visit the Manzoni School, which will be my next stop. In the meantime, my commitment to ensuring the provision of funding to the Manzoni School continues unabated, through constant dialogue with the relevant offices of the Ministry of Education, University and Research."
