The pressing rhythms of the percussion section, the guitars and mandolins, the emotional or poignant lyrics, in a crossroads of Mediterranean sounds. In Amalfi two hours of extraordinary live music with the NapoliOpera orchestra, in concert tomorrow, at 21.15:XNUMX pm in Piazza Municipio (free admission), as part of the Amalfi Summer Fest program.

Once again Naples is the protagonist on the Amalfi Coast, with the formation that consists of 7 musicians who are part of Renzo Arbore's Italian Orchestra, with whom they still tour Italy and the world, recording hits after hits.

The concert is a tribute to the “Canzone Napoletana” filtered through the experiences that its musicians have gained by collaborating with artists such as Murolo, Gragnaniello, Pino Daniele, Teresa De Sio, Tullio De Piscopo and many others, up to the Italian Orchestra of Renzo Arbore. The repertoire includes great classics, such as “Era de Maggio”, “Maria Marì”, overwhelming popular dances in a particular and engaging “Medley di Tarantelle”.

And again, pieces like “Nun te scurdà” (Almamegretta), “Don Rafaè” (F.De Andrè), open a window onto the most recent “classics”. A passionate “Santa Lucia luntana” for mandolin alone allows one to fully enjoy the most traditional Neapolitan instrument. The concert also includes a special version of “Tammurriata nera” and then “Pigliate….na pastiglia” and “Maruzzella” by Renato Carosone, “O Sarracino” in the version sung by the late friend and artist Beniamino Esposito, of whom it is also “'A 'nzalata 'e mare”, up to the inevitable tribute to the friend Renzo Arbore with songs like “Cocorito”, “Scapricciatiello” etc… With Gianni Conte as lead singer, Massimo Volpe on orchestral direction, piano and backing vocals, Michele Montefusco on guitars and backing vocals, Peppe Sannino on percussion and backing vocals, Massimo Cecchetti on bass and backing vocals, Roberto Ciscognetti on drums and, last but not least, Salvatore Esposito on mandolin.

On August 26th, a new appointment with Amalfi d'Autore, at 21 pm, in Largo Duca Piccolomini, with the poetry of Corrado Calabrò in "Fifth dimension. Selected poems 1958 - 2021, with interventions by the poet himself, by Carlo Di Lieto literary critic, Giuseppe Gargano historian, Giovanni Camelia scientific director of the Amalfi Culture and History Center, Lorenza Rocco essayist, Marcello Di Manna musician, Fabia Baldi poet, Antonio Filippetti journalist. On August 29th, the tradition of the "sunset concert" is revived with the Neapolitan Mandolin Academy in "Serenata Luntana" which this year moves to the sea-view square of the Pastena village of Amalfi.

A journey to tell Naples with all its contradictions, with its joys, bitterness, happiness and feelings through a repertoire of timeless songs. With Valentina Assorto on vocals, Mauro Squillante and Adolfo Tronco on mandolin, Luca Petrosino on mandola, Leonardo Massa on mandoloncello and Lorenzo Marino on guitar.
