He was allegedly attacked and injured by the mother, with whom he had a fight in defense of himself, without there having been any discussion shortly before.
This is what essentially emerged from the long interrogation of Cristiano De Vincentiis, the 50-year-old who yesterday morning in Bucchianico killed his mother Paola, 69, at home, hitting her with more than ten stab wounds to the abdomen, chest and back.
The man, assisted by the lawyer Cristiano Zulli, was questioned yesterday evening by the deputy public prosecutor of Chieti, Giancarlo Ciani, in the ward of the Chieti hospital where he is hospitalized and under guard due to some non-serious injuries. There was no shortage of arguments between mother and son, always about money and there had also been an argument last Tuesday afternoon, but the matter seemed to have ended there.
The evening and night had passed peacefully, then the awakening ended in tragedy, with the man clutching the large kitchen knife with which he had just killed his mother, leaving her in a pool of blood, leaving the house, which is located in a small street in the historic center, and calling 118 and the Carabinieri.
De Vincentiis, who was being followed by Serd, was arrested for voluntary homicide and for now remains under guard in the hospital, aware of having killed his mother: in tears he told his version of the facts, appearing collaborative and making himself available to the judiciary. The situation that emerged immediately after the fact is that the victim had often turned to the parish priest of Bucchianico to ask for money, claiming that the money was for her son.
The woman lived with her sister and son in a house rented in Bucchianico last July, with the prospect of staying there until December. The house is under seizure, awaiting, after the inspection carried out yesterday by the Carabinieri of the Chieti Company, by the prosecutor Ciani and by the coroner Cristian D'Ovidio, an inspection and findings by the Carabinieri RIS of Rome. The hearing to validate the arrest and the autopsy have yet to be scheduled.
