Emanuele Filiberto and the stadium issue in Aversa: “Without a home you can’t play football”

Emanuele Filiberto , the new owner of Real Aversa , spoke about the situation of his second club after Savoia di Torre Annunziata and took stock of the stadium in the city.

"I learned from the press that the Mayor of Aversa has agreed to a meeting ," a statement read. " Dr. Matachione and I would be happy to meet with him on the afternoon of May 8th ."

"I learned that the Municipality is supporting major investments in the stadium, and this is certainly a fundamental first step towards developing a plan to play football in Aversa and bring it to the top, " the prince explained. " Without a home, you can't play football ."

“I also learned that the Municipality does not have the use of the pitch, having entrusted it to a private individual. However, I hope that in any tender there is always a right of first refusal for those who have a football team that plays in at least one or two categories below the Lega Pro , and above all intend to carry out ambitious projects not only for the first team.”

"We're placing a lot of emphasis on young players with the Royal House Academy . Without a first team, an ambitious youth development project could never be achieved. We plan to have two important recruitment hubs, one in the southern province of Naples in Torre Annunziata and the other in Aversa , connected to Caserta ."

“I hope that after substantial economic interventions supported by the community, not everything will remain unchanged regarding the management of the stadium, I am in fact certain that the mayor has given the management of the stadium, while maintaining direct availability of the same, otherwise he would only become a mediator with the current entrepreneur”.

"What I have seen in the last few months in the south is something absurd and nothing surprises me anymore. I want to point out that this is not an attack on the current manager, who only participated in a tender and who looked after his own interests. We need to verify whether the municipal administration looked after the interests of an entire city".

“I repeat, I never want to believe that the conditions of a tender remain unchanged after a million-dollar intervention paid for by an entire community, also because no one would be willing to invest in football without having direct assignment of the stadium”.

“Give us the contract of assignment, requested some time ago by the company via certified email and never delivered, as a rule a public administration should exhibit for transparency, so as to be able to make all the necessary assessments and only then could we verify whether the many words reported to us represent reality or are only instrumental political words”.
