“We find the decision of the General Directorate of the Water and Waste Cycle of the Region to grant the subjection to the integrated environmental impact assessment with the incidence assessment for the Foundries project in Buccino alarming. The relocation of the Foundries to Buccino would have a negative impact on the environmental health and on the economic, social and touristic spin-off of a territory that must be preserved.
Just think of the risk to the organic farming sector present in the area, whose high-quality agri-food production is recognized and appreciated at an international level.
The construction of a heavy industry site is not consistent with the principles of environmental protection and with the sustainable development requirements set out in the National Strategy for Internal Areas.
