During the next winter, a rich program of events will give life to the program “Le Notti Azzurre Winter Edition”, in the sign of a rediscovered atmosphere that mixes with an original proposal, but always faithful to tradition. On the occasion of the holidays, and not only, a review full of novelties that will go straight to the heart of everyone, young and old, also welcoming visitors who choose the coastal village in the “off season” to spend carefree hours in a magical place.
And it will be “In un attimo…Natale” from 17.30 pm on Saturday 4 November, with the switching on of the Christmas lights, so eagerly awaited in this special time of year, for the second edition of “La Magia degli Elementi”, the widespread itinerant tour that with its appointments is leading to the discovery of the many beauties of the network built between the municipalities of Maiori as leader, Amalfi, Ravello, Positano, Praiano, Cetara and Sant'Egidio del Monte Albino.
Fireworks, themed lights, street artists and much more will liven up the alleys and streets, in a route that winds from Piazza S. Maria di Costantinopoli, in the upper part of the town, to cross the main street and reach Largo Marina at 18.30:XNUMX pm, when the parade of street artists will give way to the countdown for the lighting of the Christmas tree that will dominate the promenade. Inflatables, icing sugar, music and other surprises will be the ingredients of the grand finale dedicated to the little ones.
"Our peculiarities are our business card that starts from the well-being of our own citizens. The tourist and cultural initiatives that we propose focus on Cetara's hospitality and welcome so that it becomes an attractive destination for families, young people, groups of friends and curious people who already know the coast, but not entirely our splendid town that has so much more to offer, 365 days a year" - explains the mayor of Cetara, Fortunato Della Monica. “We will start with the lighting of the artistic lights, to expand the offer with a series of characteristic meetings, starting with the inevitable Ezio Falcone Award that returns punctually” – a commitment that renews the habits in the words and deeds of the mayor, supported by the Councilor with responsibility for Tourism and Entertainment, Daniele Luigi D'Elia and Cinzia Forcellino, councilor with responsibility for Culture, Equal Opportunities and Communication: “We will increasingly put the kids and their families at the center of our program because, especially in particular moments, they are our magnifying glass through which we observe the world that pushes us to always give our best. A special thanks goes to a willing young man, Enrico Liguori for having collaborated in this organizational phase”.
Among molds and decorations, children will once again be the protagonists in the double appointment of the “Giochiamo con la ceramica” workshops for small artisans who will get involved on the afternoon of Friday, November 10, from 16 pm, at the “Ave Maria” multipurpose room in Piazza San Francesco, learning to manipulate the material and history of one of the most identifying elements of the coast. It will be repeated on Friday, December 15, same place, same time. But it doesn’t end here. For gourmets and enthusiasts, “Alici al Calice” will appear, in collaboration with ambientarti which will propose five dates, November 17 and 24, December 1, January 19 and 26, all on Fridays. The Cetara anchovy colatura marries wine in its “sentinel” to discuss gastronomy, oenology and the culture of good food.
A series of thematic meetings divided into two moments of the Christmas program, to savor different combinations, with the help and advice of restaurateurs and producers from Cetara, together with the wineries of the area. The destination of the tastings will be the Torre Vicereale, with its Museo Cantina, again at 19 pm. Another unmissable event that also anticipates the first taste of the freshly tapped colatura will be “Aspettando l'Immacolata”, on Thursday 7 December, from 18.30:12 pm, in the company of folk music played in the street to catapult us into the festive atmosphere that precedes the holy procession at first light in the morning. And December will also be the month that honors the holidays and with them comes the “Festa della Colatura di Alici di Cetara Dop”, with the “Ezio Falcone” gastronomic award, to discover and rediscover the amber nectar. Make way for the young chefs, from 9 pm on Saturday XNUMX December, at the Hotel Cetus.
This year the contest goes beyond the school gates of the Hotel Institutes, to search for the best chef in the province. While waiting for Christmas Eve and after the first tapping, the students will be the ones to put their hands on pots and pans and give vent to their creativity, with local delicacies and the main ingredient: the Colatura di Alici di Cetara DOP. The expert chefs will challenge each other by cooking their best dish that will be tasted and evaluated by a jury of experts.
Throughout the month of December and into January, there will still be room for fun in the special program dedicated to Christmas, with tombola, Santa's village, comedies and theatrical shows, gospel choirs and the long-awaited 90s revival of New Year's Eve in the square, to greet the new year and welcome the Epiphany with lots of good intentions.
