SANTA BALERA guests at the Ariston for the 74th Sanremo Festival

The New Orchestra SANTA BALERA: the new face of popular music.

The New Orchestra SANTA BALERA, composed of 15 musicians and 10 young dancers, represents the Generation Z of Liscio.

Their song “Romagna mia” will soon be available on the radio and on all digital platforms. The members of the Nuova Orchestra SANTA BALERA, led by Giordano Sangiorgi, are musicians also active in rock, indie, pop, singer-songwriter, folk and jazz.

Coming from the Vai Liscio program of the Emilia Romagna Region and curated by MEI, together with Ater and other partners, they took part in the Santa Balera circuit, which involved ten dance halls, uniting young musicians with experts of liscio and dance schools. This alternative youth movement reached over four thousand spectators, offering a free and independent musical experience.

The orchestra includes musicians such as Loris Casadei, Kevin Cimatti, Alessia Dalcielo, Angela De Leo and Anna De Leo, Christian Di Giacomo, Marika Lombini, Carlotta Marchesini, Andrea Medri, Matilde Montanari, Riccardo Monti, Nicolò Quercia, Samuele Sangiorgi, Emanuele Tedaldi and DJ Martina Gaetano, together with dancers such as Christian Ermeti, Elisa Fuchi, Francesco Amati, Micol Curzi, Matteo Carghini, Rachele Morri, Edoardo Silvi, Beatrice Biondi, Mattia Bonci and Alice Nicoletti. With an average age of only 20 years, the orchestra represents the third generation of Liscio. The song “Romagna mia” by Secondo Casadei, published in 1954, has become a hymn of sharing and this year celebrates 70 years in the version of SANTA BALERA.

The presence at the Sanremo Festival intends to pay homage to the recovery of Romagna and the “Angeli Del Fango”, as well as paying homage to Maestro Secondo Casadei and the giants of liscio such as Carlo Brighi, known as Zaclén, and Raoul Casadei.

After their debut at the Sanremo Festival, Santa Balera will begin the “Romagna mia tour” dedicated to the great Maestro Secondo Casadei and to the entire world of smooth dancing and the tradition of Romagna folklore, with many guests. The tour will be curated by Giordano Sangiorgi (Mei) and Massimo Zoli (Agenzia Ridens).

Mirko Casadei, son of Raoul, will perform with the new Santa Balera orchestra, making his debut, accompanied by his musicians Marco Lazzarini, Stefano Giugliarelli and Valeria Magnani.
