Camorra, “the boss Patrizio Bosti is a fugitive in San Giovanni Bosco”: the revelations of the repentant

During his time on the run, mafia boss Patrizio Bosti used an ambulance to leave the San Ghiovanni Bosco hospital where he had gone for a check-up.

Another of his trusted men obtained a liver transplant by skipping the waiting list, a doctor who wrote false TSO certificates for prisoners even in prison and then doctors who were at the service of the clan to report deceased people for the funeral home business, but also much more.

In short, the San Giovanni Bosco hospital was a veritable medical branch of the Contini clan. A disconcerting picture emerges from the 480-page precautionary order signed by investigating judge Federica Colucci, which last week jailed twelve leading members of the clan that founded the Secondigliano Alliance.

It was first of all the repentant Teodoro De Rosa , a man who for years was in the clan who revealed all the secrets and connections of doctors and paramedics of the San Giovanni Bosco hospital with the clan.

The other day, Ciro Verdoliva , general director of the ASL Napoli 1, interviewed by Il Mattina, announced that they will move forward with restoring legality to the hospital. But reading the order makes one think it's too late. Campania Regional President Vincenzo De Luca has been saying the same thing for several days , and he returned to the topic again today. "We've been fighting the Camorra for seven years, fighting hand-to-hand to kick them out of the hospital."

"During Patrizio Bosti 's time on the run , we used Scapolatiello ambulances to get him out through the hospital underpass. According to the clan, he was transporting drugs inside the ambulance..." the cooperating witness recounted in an October 2020 statement.

He then added a series of previously unpublished details about the use of the hospital.

The boss Gennaro De Luca 'o muntato has climbed the waiting lists for a liver transplant

Gennaro De Luca (aka ìo muntato) also climbed the waiting list for a liver transplant, with the complicity of the ASL (Local Health Authority) officials. I believe this operation was not performed at San Giovanni Bosco. I can say, however, that the matter was handled by Salvatore De Rosa.

I can also report with certainty that while Gennaro De Luca was in prison, he was visited several times at the San Giovanni Bosco Hospital, through my uncle and my father. I don't recall if he also had any short hospital stays. As happened with Ciccio Mallardo , during these visits, messages were given to Gennaro De Luca, without the prison authorities' knowledge...

Then, regarding Scapolatiello's ambulances, De Rosa reports: "We allowed them to park inside the hospital. We gave him support inside the emergency room because that's where everything happens. Scapolatiello has been at the San Giovanni Bosco hospital for years, always with the Continis' permission . He's a person who's been used by us in the clan and has incurred debts with me, money that was given to me by Rita Aieta.

During my time there, Giovanna Aieta , Rita's sister, ran the Scapolatiello business and was assigned to the Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit . These are the two main areas where ambulances are needed. If someone dies in the hospital, the patient can't be released, but with the complicity of the head of Intensive Care at the time,... omitted... we made it appear that the patient was leaving alive.

 Doctors involved in the funeral business

Then there was Dr. …omissis… who is also the lover of …omissis… who would let the patients out by making them appear alive. Then there was Dr.…omissis… Since in the resuscitation department in the emergency room there was a person in charge of cleaning, we exploited the presence of these people, or those of the ambulance company who approached the relatives of the deceased or the dying person, telling them that there was the possibility of taking the person home even if deceased. 

The price varied depending on whether they were people from the area, from outside the neighborhood or from another province. It was never a fixed price. It was about 500 euros on average, if the person had to be moved to Naples. We were also covered at night because they were the subjects of the Emergency Room or the Intensive Care Unit or other departments who also called Maurizio or his brother or his father at night.

Maurizio Scapolatiello received only a part of the compensation that was paid to him by the private individual who requested the transport, which was used to cover his earnings and also the cost of the day of other subjects that he needed to carry out the transport. The rest of the money went to the clan. He gave the money directly to Giovanna Aieta, on some occasions he gave it to me…”.

The availability of all emergency room doctors

By now the doctors at the emergency room had become friends with the Scapolatiello family. Just as he had direct relationships with Giovanna Aieta. He had ties both of friendship and for the management of illicit business also with other individuals and in particular with …omissis… who is the individual in service with the squad, but in force at the San Carlo Arena Police Station. He also had relationships with…omissiis…, another individual who entered the cleaning company, not through our intermediation but who took his father's place when the latter died.

I would like to point out that we were the ones who spoke to the Health Management to say that the Scapoletiello family belonged to us and that they had to be guaranteed a place to stay inside the Hospital without creating problems…”.

 The discovery of the bugs and the meetings in the health department

We had heard about bugs, and in fact my grandfather noticed them, so we deliberately didn't turn them on. We had weekly checks to detect any bugs. In fact, recently, we went straight to the intensive care unit to talk to people like Peppe 'o guaglione and Ciro Di Carluccio . We also had appointments in gynecology. We also had appointments at the Health Department... omitted.

There is a certain caretaker of the San Giovanni Bosco Hospital, who gave us the rooms. It is a person I have already spoken about who is also the fictitious owner of properties of Patrizio Bosti and Eduardo Contini…”

In some cases, Genny Maradona, with the complicity of available doctors, has fake TSO (treatment-related drug addiction) reports prepared for members of the clan. The same activity is also carried out by ...omissis and his brother, with the complicity, among others, of Dr. ...omissis. The latter has also visited prison on several occasions to prepare fake reports for clan inmates.

In particular, I remember that she went to prison on behalf of Ciro Bernardi, a relative of the Licciardis , because his son married one of the Licciardis' daughters. She certainly went to his home while he was under house arrest; I think she also went to prison.

The jackal was also fictitiously admitted to the ward of the San Giovanni Bosco Hospital and the hospitalization was supervised by Dr.…omissis… Usually 'o sciacallo came just when he knew that …omissis… was on duty. She had good daily relations with 'o sciacallo's partner.”.
