Posillipo daring chase at dawn: 3 thieves caught

Naples. Dawn was timidly breaking over Posillipo Hill when a police patrol, alerted by a robbery that had just occurred on Via Petrarca, began a thrilling chase.

Three young men, with their faces covered and armed with pistols, had terrorized a group of kids, snatching their phones, a precious bracelet and a handful of cash.

The robbers' escape, aboard a car launched at crazy speed, turned into a frantic chase through the streets of Posillipo.

The officers, with sirens wailing and flashing lights, gave chase, determined to stop the criminals.

After a frantic race through the winding streets of the neighborhood , the robbers' car was forced to stop in Via Orazio.

The three blocked in via Orazio attempted to escape on foot

The three criminals, realizing they were surrounded, attempted a desperate escape on foot, but were promptly stopped by the officers.

Inside the vehicle, the police found the weapon used in the robbery, a Walther pistol with a full magazine, in addition to the loot stolen from the victims. The three robbers, all Neapolitans and with criminal records, were handcuffed and taken to the police station.

And from there, after the formal procedures, the three, two 18-year-olds and a 21-year-old, the latter with a criminal record, were arrested for robbery and possession of a common firearm. Then their new life as prisoners began.
