Ambush in Scampia: 50-year-old Giuseppe D'Andrea injured
In an ambush in Scampia, on Via Francesco Bacone, near the housing estate known as Lotto G, a commando of hitmen opened fire on Giuseppe D'Andrea, a fifty-year-old already known to law enforcement.
The designated victim survived without serious injuries and, after receiving initial treatment at Don Bosco Hospital, was discharged with a prognosis of fifteen days.
The investigation is now in the hands of the State Police, who are investigating the risk of an escalation of violence in Scampia, especially after the murder of Camillo Esposito.
D'Andrea, although not affiliated with any criminal organization, has a criminal record for property and drug crimes, and investigators do not rule out that his injury may be linked to conflicts in drug trafficking.
Lot G, where the attack took place, is under the control of the Angrisano family, which now controls the Vanella Grassi clan, to which Camillo Esposito was also close . Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that the incident is linked to an internal feud within the clan.
The ambush against D'Andrea is a clear signal against those who go out of their way in the Vanella Grassi area. Before being injured, the 50-year-old was also hit in the head with the butt of a gun.
