Salerno. Alfredo Erra was deemed "mentally competent" according to a psychiatric report by Dr. Ferdinando Pellegrino, a psychiatrist at the Salerno Assize Court.

The assessment emerged after several meetings with Erra, the 42-year-old from Pontecagnano Faiano, in the Avellino prison. Erra is accused of the murder of Anna Borsa, his ex-partner, which occurred on March 1, 2022 in the beauty salon on Via Tevere where Anna worked.

During the meetings, Erra revealed details about themurder, mentioning that he had purchased the firearm from some nomads in Pontecagnano only ten days earlier, with the initial intention of using it to commit suicide.

According to Pellegrino, Erra suffers from “an adjustment disorder with depressed mood”, but maintains the ability to understand the negative value of the act committed and its consequences.

The first-degree trial is nearing its conclusion, with sentencing expected in October.
