Naples, Case Nuove: Hunt for the Lone Gunman

Share

Naples. The hunt is on for the lone gunman who caused panic last night in the Case Nuove neighborhood by firing ten shots into the air on Via Padre Ludovico da Casoria.

A Camorra raid in the area controlled by the Marigliano clan. The action is the latest chapter in a feud that has been pitting the Marigliano and Contini groups against each other for months.

The investigators, who arrived on the scene, found the shell casings and began investigations to track down those responsible.

According to initial reconstructions, a single gunman riding a scooter fired shots in multiple directions, then fled without a trace.

The episode, which takes place in a context of growing tension between local criminal organizations, is causing deep concern among citizens.

The agents of the Naples Flying Squad are working to identify the person responsible and to whom the message of lead was addressed.

The images from public and private video surveillance cameras in the area were analyzed to analyze the gunman's path in order to identify him.

The criminal scenario we are moving in from an investigative point of view is well known because that very area is at the centre of a clash that began last December with the ambush in which 30 people were injured. Ciro Vecchione, actor in the film “The Children's Paranza”, and his girlfriend.

This was followed by another shooting in January in which two were injured. Joseph Nicholas Moffa, 18 years old and an innocent bystander. Moffa was then arrested because he was considered one of the perpetrators of the ambush on Vecchione.
