Benevento, priest arrested with child pornography material on his cell phone

A serious case shakes the community of Sant'Agata dei Goti: a 31-year-old priest, Guido S., has been arrested on charges of possession of child pornography. The discovery was made during an investigation conducted by the Turin Prosecutor's Office, which led to the search of his cell phone. The raid was carried out by the postal police on orders from the judiciary.

According to initial reconstructions, the priest would have downloaded and viewed files containing child pornography, found by the agents on his device. This latest episode brings to light the serious phenomenon linked to the circulation of such illicit content, the object of ever-increasing attention by the authorities.

After his arrest, the 31-year-old was placed under house arrest. This morning, the priest appeared before the preliminary investigations judge (GIP), Pietro Vinetti. Assisted by his lawyer, Vincenzo Sguera, the suspect made spontaneous statements denying all charges and rejecting the accusations against him.
