Di Lorenzo, a brace as Italy captain: “An evening I will never forget”

A night to remember for Giovanni Di Lorenzo, the absolute protagonist of Italy's 4-1 victory over Israel in the Nations League. The Italian captain, who scored a splendid brace, expressed all his emotion to Rai Sport's microphones at the end of the match.

“The brace as captain? It was exciting just to wear the armband, and the two goals are something special. It's an evening that I will carry with me for the rest of my life,” said the Italian defender, visibly satisfied with his performance. Di Lorenzo then reflected on the difficult moments that every footballer can go through, recalling how he faced them with determination: “Complicated moments happen to all footballers. I faced them with balance and moved on.”

The full-back has in fact started the season in an excellent manner, both with Napoli and with the national team, demonstrating constant growth. “Now I hope to continue on this path”, he added. Commenting the victory against Israel, Di Lorenzo underlined the difficulty of the match, which however was transformed into a clear success thanks to the team's performance. “Today's match was difficult and we made it easy”he concluded.
