Aversa – Caught dumping construction waste in broad daylight, in an area recently remediated, the Carabinieri Forestale of the Marcianise unit reported three workers from a construction company operating in the Naples area, arrested in the "Cappuccini" area of ​​Aversa.

The officers caught them red-handed while, using a Fiat Doblò loaded beyond capacity, they dumped non-hazardous hazardous waste on the ground. Among the abandoned materials was a large bathtub carried on the vehicle's roof rack, as well as wooden planks, doors, plastic, pipes, and various debris from renovation work, likely unauthorized.

The affected area had recently been cleared of large quantities of waste thanks to operations coordinated by the Sole Commissioner for the Remediation of Landfills and Contaminated Sites, Major General Giuseppe Vadalà.

At the end of the operation, the Carabinieri Forestali seized the van used for the illegal transport and reported the three workers at large, who were held responsible for both the unauthorized transport and the abandonment of the waste. The driver's license was also suspended for three to nine months, a measure that will be ordered by the Caserta Prefecture. If convicted, the vehicle will also be confiscated.

Despite ongoing law enforcement checks in the Land of Fires area, incidents of illegal dumping continue to occur. This phenomenon fuels pollution of the land and groundwater, posing serious risks to public health and exposing those responsible to severe criminal and administrative penalties.
