Santa Maria Capua Vetere, threatens and chases his ex: 61-year-old arrested

The notification of the prohibition to approach the places frequented by the victim, delivered only the day before, was not enough to keep a 61-year-old from Grazzanise away from his ex-wife. On the evening of November 23, the man was arrested in deferred flagrante delicto, accused of stalking.

The arrest was carried out by the Carabinieri of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Station after the woman went to the barracks to report the incident: shortly before, she had been chased and insulted by her ex-husband, who considered her responsible for the restrictive measure.

The victim told the Carabinieri that her 21-year-old son had warned her that he had seen his father hanging around her house. In an attempt to avoid an encounter, the woman decided not to return home immediately; however, when she arrived, she found her ex-husband waiting in his car.

To avoid contact, she chose to continue driving until he left. However, the man did not give up: as soon as he saw her, he started the car and started chasing her.

Despite the attempts of the woman, accompanied by her 22-year-old daughter, to lose her ex, he managed to pull alongside her car with dangerous maneuvers, forcing her to stop and starting to insult her.

The woman and her terrified daughter's cries for help attracted attention along the busy Via Caserta in Santa Maria Capua Vetere, prompting the man to flee.

The entire chase scene was captured by the video surveillance cameras of the Carabinieri barracks, located right on Via Caserta. The man was then tracked down by the Carabinieri, arrested and placed under house arrest.
