Lina Sastri e Marco Leonardi have recently received the prestigious Award Capri Patron Griffi during the 29th edition of Capri – Hollywood – The International Film Festival. The event, dedicated to excellence in the world of entertainment between theater and cinema, was held with the support of the Capri nel Mondo Institute.
The Institute, with the support of the DG Cinema of the MiC and the Campania Region, and thanks to the collaboration of partners such as Intesa Sanpaolo, Riflessi-Made in Italy, Frecciarossa and Givova, celebrated the successes of some of the most influential artists on the contemporary scene.
Cinematographic excellence
For Lina Sastri, the award comes at a particularly significant time in her career, marked by her directorial debut with the film “La casa di Ninetta”. Produced by Rai Cinema and Run Film, the film is an autobiographical work dedicated to the director’s maternal figure, who was struck by Alzheimer’s. Actresses Maria Pia Calzone and Angela Pagano play the lead roles, with Calzone also receiving an award at the festival.
Marco Leonardi's International Successes
Marco Leonardi was honored for his contribution to “My Place Is Here,” a film directed by Daniela Porto and Cristiano Bortone, which explores the theme of prejudice. Leonardi, with a career that transcends national borders, joins a prestigious list of past winners, including Ben Gazzara, Roberto Andò, Michael Radford and other notable names in the entertainment world. The Capri Patroni Griffi Award continues to honor those who have enriched the artistic and cultural scene internationally.

It's nice to see that Lina Sastri and Marco Leonardi have received an important award. But I'm not sure I understand what Lina's film means, it seems complicated and difficult to follow. The festival is interesting, but there are many other artists who deserve attention.
