The young man, a student at the “Silvestri” scientific high school in Portici, was taken around 8 am while he was going to the nearby family car wash to pick up his microcar and head to school. He was released about eight hours later, around 16 pm.
The father met with journalists this morning at his home in San Giorgio a Cremano, visibly shaken but relieved by the happy ending. "Whoever acted knew exactly what to do. He knew our habits, he knew where my son was and at what time," Pino said.
“We fought with this constant pressure, the immediate request for money, to meet me, to have to free me from the Police,” says the father. “And having always been a sincere person, even in that situation, I chose to tell the truth: that I was with the Police who would never have let me go and do things of my own accord.”
One of the kidnappers had worked in the boy's family's car wash
An important detail emerges from the investigation: the 24-year-old arrested on charges of being the boy's "jailer" is an old acquaintance of the family. "He had worked occasionally in our car wash. He is a person from the neighborhood," explained the entrepreneur, implying that the connection of acquaintance facilitated the criminal action.
Yesterday evening, father and son were questioned by investigators at the Police Headquarters, accompanied by their trusted lawyer, Michele Rullo. In the meantime, investigations continue to clarify every detail of the kidnapping and identify any accomplices.
