Anderlecht's boss has no doubts: "Lukaku will return to us, but not this summer..."

Romelu Lukaku is coming off a season as a protagonist with Napoli, culminating in the conquest of the Scudetto and enriched by 14 goals and 10 assists in Serie A. But while the city celebrates and already dreams of the Champions League, the Belgian centre-forward looks ahead, towards a return that feels like home: Anderlecht.

The rumor was started by Marc Coucke, owner of the Belgian club, who openly spoke about a future return for the Antwerp giant: "Yes, he will be back, but I don't know if it will be in one, two, or three years. It won't be this summer; he just won the title with Napoli and needs to enjoy the Champions League. But he dreams of Anderlecht."

Lukaku , now 32 and the Belgian national team's all-time top scorer with 88 goals in 122 appearances, left Anderlecht as a youngster in 2011 to join Chelsea in the Premier League. After a long stint between England and Italy, he joined Napoli for €30 million last summer, committing himself to a deal until 2027.

According to Belgian portal DH Les Sports , the striker is reportedly planning a return to his former club by 2026, thus closing the circle of his career where it all began. Meanwhile, Napoli is enjoying him and is once again relying on his power in the penalty area and his experience ahead of the European season.
