Casola, had a kilo of explosives: 28-year-old arrested

Naples and its province are under strict surveillance by the Carabinieri, who have strengthened controls in view of possible celebrations linked to sporting events scheduled for the coming days.

In Casola di Napoli, the soldiers of the Castellammare di Stabia radiomobile section arrested Pasquale Cisale , a 27-year-old already known to the police.

The man, stopped in his car, was searched. Two homemade onion-type bombs, weighing half a kilo each, were found in the vehicle. They were ready for use, though not yet wrapped. The bomb disposal squad from the Naples provincial command responded to the scene and seized the explosive material.

Cisale is now awaiting trial, while investigations continue to clarify the destination of the devices.
