Alberto Bigon has no doubts: Antonio Conte has done a masterpiece, but he will leave Naples. The former coach who led the Azzurri to their second historic championship in 1990, spoke to the microphones of Radio Anch'io Sport on Rai Radio1 to comment on the fourth tricolor of the Neapolitan club, the second in just three years.
"If we talk about Napoli's two double scudetti, the credit must always be given to two strongholds: the club and the coach. Today the key figure is president De Laurentiis, hats off to him and the great Antonio Conte", said Bigon, who shared a brief common past with the Salento coach in Lecce: “I met him 35 years ago, a boy with a strong character. Juve took him away from me in November. Now that character has been tempered by the years and an amazing career. Well done Antonio, well done De Laurentiis”.
But the future, according to Bigon, is already marked: “Will Conte stay? For me, who still remembers him as a boy, I don't think so. I'll go away. Is he right to do so? I'm not a psychologist, but that hug with De Laurentiis it seemed cold to me." A passage also on his beloved Milan, now in search of leadership: "I don't know who the next coach will be. I'm rooting for Igli Tare, he's an extraordinary person, I met him and he impressed me a lot."
