Available from May 30 on all digital platforms and on radio rotation, “W la libertà” is the new single by Tuscan rocker Pia Tuccitto. The song, written by Angela Melisi and produced by Frank Nemola at the Montecalvo Studio in Bologna, marks a new stage in the singer-songwriter’s artistic journey.

“'Long live freedom' is a hymn to equality, freedom of speech and to be oneself – explains Tuccitto –. It's a light and fun song, but with a strong and direct message. For the first time I put aside my rocker outfit to explore a new sound, without ever losing my true soul".
From rock origins to collaborations with the greats
Pia Tuccitto is a historic figure in the Italian rock scene. Graduated from DAMS with a thesis on “Rock in the feminine”, she made her debut in 1993 at the Festival per Voci Nuove in Castrocaro. In the same year she joined Vasco Rossi’s artistic team, with whom she spent 15 years, treading the boards of the biggest live events, including three editions of the Heineken Jammin’ Festival and numerous Blasco tours.
Some of his songs have been interpreted by artists of the calibre of Patty Pravo, Irene Grandi and Vasco Rossi himself.
A career of records, live performances and authorial projects
Her first album, Un Segreto Che, was released in 2005, followed in 2008 by Urlo, produced by Frank Nemola and Guido Elmi for Bollicine/EMI Capitol Music. From then on, Pia collected concerts and participations in prestigious events: from Amiche per l'Abruzzo (2009) to the Festival del Mar Rosso (2012), up to shows in memory of artists such as Lucio Dalla and Freak Antoni.
In 2015 he shared the stage with Gianni Morandi and Cesare Cremonini in the show Starteraphy, confirming his presence in major Italian live productions.
Between art, literature and social commitment
In addition to music, Pia also dedicates herself to art and photography. Since 2011, she has been the protagonist of the theatrical show ioelei Tour, together with Federica Lisi Bovolenta, based on the book “Noi non ci lasceremo mai”. The show has been featured in numerous television programs including Domenica In, Maurizio Costanzo Show and Sky Sport.
“Romantica Io”: an album full of collaborations and contaminations
In 2020, Romantica Io, her third studio album, was released, preceded by some singles such as her version of “E…”, a famous song written by Pia for Vasco Rossi. The album features important collaborations: Federica Lisi in the song “Tu sei un sogno per me”, Franco Simone in the video “Stupida per te” and the great author Corrado Castellari in two songs.
The international scope is also not lacking: two songs in Spanish written with the Madrid-born author Marghina Garcia and a featuring in English with the Italian-American Erene Mastrangeli for the song “April 7th”.
Despite the pandemic period, Romantica Io finds space in various broadcasts such as Barone Rosso, Sky Sport24 and Tg2 Rai.
Towards a new double album and the live return
In recent months Pia has released two new songs: “Cento e 1000 piangere” (November 2024) and “Ora puoi volare” (January 2025, on the occasion of her birthday). Both singles anticipate a double album scheduled for 2026.
In the meantime, the Tuscan singer-songwriter is preparing to return to her most authentic dimension: the stage. She will soon begin a tour of the main Italian cities, accompanied by her historic band: Luca Longhini (guitar), Pierluigi Mingotti (bass) and Stefano Peretto (drums).
