Portici – A high-voltage chase through the city streets ended with the arrest of a minor and the reporting of a female peer, both Neapolitans, caught riding a stolen motorcycle.
It happened yesterday evening in Portici, where the agents of the Police Station, during a routine check of the territory along Corso Garibaldi, intercepted two young people riding a suspicious scooter.
At the sight of the patrol car, the driver – despite the officers' order to stop – accelerated sharply in an attempt to disappear. A chase ensued through the streets of the city center, culminating in a violent impact against a passing car and, immediately after, against a perimeter wall.
Despite the fall, the two young men attempted to flee on foot again, but were caught and stopped by officers after a brief struggle. The driver was arrested on charges of resisting a public official, causing personal injury, and aggravated damage.
He was then transferred to the first reception facility for minors in Colli Aminei. The passenger, however, was reported at large for the same crimes: the young woman was entrusted to her mother.
The episode is part of the broader context of prevention and control activities implemented by the State Police to combat the widespread phenomenon of crimes committed by minors in the Vesuvian area.
