Aversa, Carabinieri Return Purse With 800 Euros To American Tourist

Aversa – A sigh of relief and a “cry of joy” broke the silence when the Carabinieri of the Aversa Company contacted a 37-year-old American tourist.

The woman, traveling in Italy, had lost her purse with very valuable contents, but thanks to the promptness of a citizen and the speed of the military, the object was found and returned.

The tourist, accompanied by her companion, had made a brief stop in Caserta and was heading towards Sorrento when she lost her purse near the Caserta Sud motorway toll booth.

Fortunately, a 25-year-old man from Lecce who was passing by noticed the bag fall and, without hesitation, recovered it. Realizing the value of the contents, the young man immediately went to the Carabinieri Company of Aversa to deliver what he had found.

A citizen recovered the purse and handed it over to the police

Inside the purse, in addition to 837 euros in cash, there were travel documents, personal effects and several electronic devices, all crucial elements for the continuation of the woman's vacation. Thanks to the documents present, the Carabinieri they managed to track down the tourist within a few hours.

Late yesterday afternoon, shortly after 18:00 pm, the American couple he reached the command of the Carabinieri, where he was able to personally thank both the young man from Lecce for his honest gesture and the Carabinieri for the speed and efficiency demonstrated throughout the whole affair.

The return of identity and travel documents was particularly appreciated, allowing the tourist to continue her pleasure trip without further hitches.
