Campania is under weather alert: intense thunderstorms and a risk of hail this afternoon.
The Campania Region's Civil Protection Department has issued a yellow-level weather alert, valid from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM today, Sunday, August 2, throughout the region.
The measure was adopted based on the Functional Center's assessments, which highlighted a meteorological situation characterized by marked instability.
According to the forecast, sudden showers and thunderstorms may occur during the afternoon, some of which may be severe in some places. These phenomena are difficult to predict in detail and are likely to develop rapidly and affect limited areas.
The expected risks
The alert draws attention to the potential effects of thunderstorms, which could be accompanied by strong wind gusts, lightning strikes, and hail. Damage to roofs and temporary structures, as well as falling branches or trees, cannot be ruled out, potentially disrupting traffic and outdoor activities.
The Civil Protection Department urges citizens and municipalities to remain vigilant, adopting all necessary precautionary measures until the alert ends, scheduled for 9:00 PM.
