Pozzuoli activates a switchboard to report damage to homes: immediate support for residents.
Pozzuoli – The situation in the Campi Flegrei area remains under close observation following the strong earthquake that caused damage, especially in Pozzuoli.
The meeting of the Relief Coordination Center, convened by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, to review the effects of the earthquake and coordinate assistance efforts for the population, has concluded.
Attending the meeting were the President of the Campania Region, Roberto Fico, the regional councilor for Civil Protection, Fiorella Zabatta, the mayors of the Phlegraean Fields area, and the Bishop of Pozzuoli, Carlo Villano.
Ten buildings and seven commercial businesses are uninhabitable
The meeting revealed that the number of structures declared unfit for use remains unchanged for now. The Fire Department has confirmed the unfitness of 10 buildings and 7 commercial businesses, while investigations continue on the former Olivetti area, where technical inspections are still underway to assess any critical issues.
One hundred and forty-four families away from home
The most sensitive issue concerns the displaced. Currently, 144 families have been forced to abandon their homes pending the outcome of security checks.
Currently, 88 people, including 17 minors, are being housed at the Palatrincone in Pozzuoli, while the other families have found independent accommodation with relatives, friends, or other temporary solutions.
Priority to assistance for displaced persons
During the meeting, the need to expedite support procedures for evacuees was reiterated. The goal indicated by the Rescue Coordination Center is to ensure access to hotel accommodations or independent housing assistance as quickly as possible, provided to eligible residents based on assessments conducted by the Fire Department.
Authorities will continue to monitor the situation closely, while carrying out checks on buildings and businesses affected by the earthquake.
