Caserta, man harasses bar patrons and attacks Carabinieri: arrested

A 40-year-old homeless man was stopped by Carabinieri after violently resisting arrest during a check at a bar in Caserta. The man had disturbed patrons and was arrested for resisting arrest and assault.

On Saturday afternoon, immediate intervention by the Carabinieri prevented the situation from escalating at a bar in Caserta. Around 4:30 PM, officers from the Caserta Company's Operations and Radiomobile Unit responded to a report from the owner on Via Nazionale, who was complaining about a man who was bothering other customers.

Once on site, the Carabinieri They identified the individual, a 40-year-old Nigerian national, homeless and illegally residing in the country. He is currently under investigation for assault, threats, and resisting a public official, as well as aggravated assault and refusal to provide his personal details.

During the check, the 40-year-old man behaved threateningly and violently resisted, shoving officers in an attempt to avoid identification. One Carabinieri officer sustained minor injuries during the incident before the man was apprehended and secured.

The arrested man was taken to the police station and held in holding cells awaiting trial under the fast-track procedure, as ordered by the Judicial Authority. The Carabinieri's prompt action ensured the restoration of calm and the protection of public safety at the premises.
