Bacoli – The Coast Guard has intervened yet again against illegal occupation of public maritime property. This morning, officers from the Baia Port Authority seized the "Giona" restaurant in Miseno, where tables and chairs had been placed directly on the beach, occupying a stretch of public beach.

The operation is part of a broader plan of controls launched in recent weeks between Baia and Bacoli to combat abuses that limit public access to the beaches, especially in view of the summer influx.

Today's work has restored another precious stretch of coast, previously reserved for exclusive and private use, to free use by bathers.

This is not an isolated case. In recent days, the Coast Guard had already seized similar structures between Miliscola, Marina Grande, and Baia, where they found umbrellas, sun loungers, wooden platforms, and various types of furniture set up without authorization, often without even ensuring access for swimmers.

The effort to combat illegal occupation is restoring tens of meters of coastline to the community, in an area where free beaches are few and often overrun by private use. Operations will continue throughout the summer season, with the goal—the Coast Guard says—of ensuring legality and protecting everyone's right to enjoy the sea.
