In a story on Instagram, Monzino – considered a sort of unofficial PR man for Milan's VIP scene and an acquaintance of the model – wanted to clarify his position: "I am not under investigation, but a person informed of the facts, like Corona and Martina," he wrote, adding that he had already alerted his lawyers about what was published in the newspapers.
The dynamics of the case
The story broke out on July 21, when Fabricius Corona – previously convicted of extortion – published intimate audio recordings between Bova and 23-year-old Ceretti on his podcast Falsissimo. Immediately afterward, the Rome prosecutor's office opened an investigation into attempted extortion*, which was entrusted to the postal police and coordinated by prosecutor Eliana Dolce.
According to initial reports, Monzino allegedly sent the audio files to Corona and, previously, sent several text messages to the actor, containing what Bova has denounced as actual blackmail attempts. Investigators also seized the model's cell phone, the primary recipient of those recordings, and are analyzing the phone traffic to determine exactly how they ended up online.
The lawyers' reactions
The private life of Bova she ended up in the spotlight, with repercussions also in her relationship with Rocio Muñoz Morales, mother of his two daughters. The actor's lawyer, David Leggi, stated that the two "have been separated for some time" and alternate caring for the girls, adding that investigations into the illegal distribution of the material are ongoing.
But Rocío's lawyer, Antonio Conte, retorted bluntly: "It's false that there's a de facto separation," he said, emphasizing that his client learned the news from the media and is shocked. "The priority is to protect the girls from this scandal," he added.
Corona is not currently under investigation, but prosecutors are considering receiving stolen goods. Meanwhile, fans and social media are questioning what had been described as a "formerly ended relationship" between Bova and Ceretti—perhaps ended precisely because of the leaked audio.
A story that mixes gossip, alleged blackmail, and legal battles, and which seems destined to be the subject of much debate for a long time to come.
