Naples, raid in Marianella: two reported carrying knives and knuckledusters

Carabinieri from the Vomero company conducted a raid in the Chiaiano and Piscinola neighborhoods, where an extraordinary territorial control operation has been implemented in the last few hours.

The operation led to a flurry of complaints, seizures, and reports, once again highlighting the critical nature of an area often at the center of widespread illegal activity.

During the investigations, 279 people were identified. Thirteen young people were reported to the prefecture for being found in possession of small quantities of drugs for personal use.

The roads were also scrutinized: out of 56 vehicles checked, 50 traffic fines were issued, with 30 vehicles seized, including cars, scooters, and even quads, a sign of traffic often in violation of all regulations.

Not just driving violations. Carabinieri from the Marianella station reported a 33-year-old man with knuckledusters and a 22-year-old man carrying a switchblade: both will face charges of illegal possession of weapons.

The two armed men are accused of carrying illegal weapons

Four young men, however, were caught driving despite never having obtained a license and reported. A 59-year-old man was in trouble for receiving stolen goods: during a search, officers found two toy guns without the red caps, considered potentially dangerous because they were indistinguishable from real ones.

The operation is part of a series of targeted checks that the Carabinieri are intensifying in the city's peripheral areas, often the scene of crime and petty crime.

A presence that, investigative sources explain, aims to "raise the level of vigilance" and restore safety to neighborhoods that have been marked by degradation and widespread lawlessness for too long.
