Trasnova, unions against Stellantis: "53 workers at risk after thirty years of operation"

Thirty years of work are at risk of being wiped out with a single stroke of the pen. This is the harsh accusation leveled by the provincial secretariats of FIM, FIOM, UILM, and FISMIC against Stellantis , following its decision not to renew the Trasnova contract. A decision that, according to the unions, leaves 53 workers facing "a wall of silence and indifference" and paves the way for layoffs that would take effect on May 1st, the symbolic day of Labor Day.

"After three decades of uninterrupted service and dedication alongside Stellantis, Trasnova workers are now faced with a grave act of neglect towards a historic workforce," the unions denounce, emphasizing how this activity has contributed to the plant's success for thirty years. The decision is described as "an insult to the dignity of labor," especially given the date set for the end of production.

The unions are demanding immediate action and reminding the group of its social responsibilities. "We demand that Stellantis assume its responsibility, as required by the Constitution and industrial ethics," they state, pointing to possible solutions such as renewing the contract or internalizing the workers, to safeguard the skills that have been operating within the company for years.

The final message is clear and unambiguous. "We will not accept thirty years of sacrifice being erased. We are not numbers, we are people who have built the value of this industrial hub," reiterate FIM, FIOM, UILM, and FISMIC. "We will not take a single step back until every job is guaranteed. The fight continues, and we are ready to mobilize in any way to prevent this social devastation."
