Capri: Injured hiker rescued near the Observatory: helicopter rescue

There were moments of concern on Capri, where a hiker was injured near the Observatory, necessitating a complex and highly critical rescue operation. Specialized mountain rescue personnel from the Guardia di Finanza (Italian Finance Police) went into action, along with technicians from the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps.

The alarm was raised by the CNSAS operations center, which coordinated the intervention with the support of a helicopter from the Naples Air Section. Once the woman was located, the operation began in earnest in a particularly difficult environment, further exacerbated by unfavorable weather conditions.

Two Guardia di Finanza mountain rescue workers were lowered to the scene by winch, reaching the injured person and providing first aid with the assistance of the medical personnel already present. After an initial assessment of the patient's condition, it was decided to proceed with recovery by airlift, deemed the safest method given the complexity of the situation.

The hiker was then transferred to the island's helipad, where she was handed over to 118 paramedics for further assessment and treatment. The operation was completed without further complications, thanks to the synergy between the various teams involved in the operation.
