Hiker rescued after falling into Minerva's Cave: helicopter rescue operation
A man fell while hiking in the Minerva Cave, along the coast between Ieranto Bay and Punta Campanella. The Campania Alpine and Speleological Rescue Service coordinated the rescue with the help of a helicopter, transporting the injured man to the hospital in Salerno.

An excursion in the coastal area between Ieranto Bay and Punta Campanella turned into an accident when a man fell into the Minerva Cave, suffering multiple injuries.
The 118 Naples East operations center alerted the Campania Alpine and Speleological Rescue Service, which responded promptly with the support of the Capri Coast Guard, which provided a dinghy to reach the area by sea.
The CNSAS teams, arriving both by sea and land, located the injured man and stabilized his condition inside the cave. Given the seriousness of his condition, the Naples 118 air ambulance was requested.
Medical personnel, lowered by winch near the accident site, administered first aid and immobilized the patient on a stretcher. The injured man was subsequently recovered and airlifted to Salerno Hospital for treatment.
