Easter checks in Castellammare, Sant'Antonio Abate, and Santa Maria La Carità: 2 arrests and 3 reports

Carabinieri carried out tight checks on Easter Sunday between Castellammare di Stabia, Sant'Antonio Abate, and Santa Maria La Carità. The operation resulted in two arrests, three complaints, eight people reported for personal drug use, and numerous fines for traffic violations.

Two arrests

In Castellammare di Stabia, the military executed a warrant for the arrest of a 34-year-old local man, believed to be responsible for the crime of making threats dating back to 2016. The man was placed under house arrest.

In Sant'Antonio Abate, Carabinieri arrested a 24-year-old man during a search, who was found in possession of hashish, marijuana, and cocaine, pre-divided into doses. Cash and drug packaging materials were also seized. He was also placed under house arrest, pending trial.

Reports and investigations

Three people were reported during the checks. Two will be charged with drug possession with intent to sell.

A further complaint concerned a person identified following investigative activities and held responsible for throwing objects onto the pitch during an amateur football match played last February.

Eight drug-related reports

Eight people have been reported to the Prefecture as personal drug users, confirming the ongoing local enforcement efforts to address drug use.

Road checks

Traffic checks were also carried out. The Carabinieri inspected 75 vehicles and identified a total of 169 people.

Fifteen traffic violations were issued. The most common violations included failure to have a vehicle inspected and driving without insurance. Cases of driving without a license, using a cell phone while driving, and failure to wear a seat belt were also confirmed.
