Trasnova withdraws layoffs: 94 employees on furlough until December.

The collective dismissal procedure initiated by Trasnova, a logistics company for Stellantis' Italian plants, has concluded with a U-turn. This morning, the company withdrew the provisions for the 94 workers involved, 53 of whom work at the Pomigliano d'Arco production site, and simultaneously activated the redundancy fund for cessation of business, which will be in effect until December 31st.

A shared path

The announcement came just hours after the layoffs took effect. Giuseppe Raso and Aniello Graziano, secretaries of Fismic Napoli, explained: "The request for social safety nets was made over a year and a half ago. Now the company has accepted the request, announcing the agreement reached with Stellantis. This transition period will allow two interested businesses to begin procedures to absorb some of the staff."

The updated picture

The dispute is part of a broader context. During a meeting held this morning at the Ministry of Labor, the companies Trasnova, Logitech, and Teknoservice withdrew all ongoing dismissal procedures. This was announced in a joint statement by the trade unions FIM, FIOM, UILM, FISMIC, UGLM, and AQCFR, emphasizing that this will prevent the loss of over 230 jobs. Workers' representatives are now awaiting a meeting with the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy to discuss the business plans of the two potential new entrepreneurs who have expressed interest in taking over.

A moment of reflection

Last night, the eve of the turning point was marked by a moment of reflection at the Euronut plant in Sperone, in the province of Avellino. Monsignor Francesco Marino, Bishop of Nola, addressed the Trasnova employees, gathered for a prayer vigil: "Work is not a secondary aspect of life: it is an essential dimension. Today, my thoughts go to those who have seen their jobs at risk, along with the future of their families. Those responsible must feel the duty to find a solution, putting the individual and the common good at the center."
