Rai, letter of complaint to Sigfrido Ranucci: under scrutiny are his statements and confidential emails to Lavitola.

Rome – A letter of complaint against Sigfrido Ranucci for violating the internal code of ethics. RAI has sent the former host of Report the complaints raised by the company's Ethics Committee, effectively triggering disciplinary proceedings against him. Among the company's findings are the sending of internal emails to external parties (Valter Lavitola, ed.) and the criticisms expressed against company management and the new hosts of Report, which were disseminated on his social media profiles and in statements to journalists.

The journalist now has five days to respond. The letter was apparently sent following the Ethics Committee's report, which—according to the company—revealed significant disciplinary issues related to the journalist's personal conduct, which violated internal rules. The proceedings could lead to a warning, suspension, and, in extremis, dismissal.

According to company sources, sending the letter was therefore a necessary act, unrelated to the filing of the urgent appeal against Ranucci's removal from the management of Report.

The letter was reportedly filed by the Human Resources Department last Monday, before Ranucci's lawyers announced their appeal. The complaint allegedly concerns behaviors such as sending internal emails to external parties, specifically the circular sent to Ranucci by Paolo Corsini, the editor of Approfondimento; the judgments expressed against company management and the new hosts of Report; and the unauthorized access of external parties to the company.

Furthermore, sending the letter would be independent of the internal audit that will investigate the company's procedures followed in carrying out the Report investigations, and therefore any possible interference by Lavitola, which should be initiated subsequently.

According to the company, the removal from management is based on editorial logic, having been signed, among other things, by Corsini and not by CEO Giampaolo Rossi.
