Naples: 16-year-old found armed on Via Duomo and arrested

The extraordinary operations ordered by the Police Headquarters to combat illegal possession of weapons continue in Naples. Late yesterday evening, State Police officers arrested a 16-year-old on charges of illegally carrying a concealed weapon.

The control in Via Duomo

The operation occurred during a routine patrol. Officers from the Decumani Police Station, while driving along Via Duomo, noticed a scooter carrying the young man. Stopped for questioning, the minor was found in possession of a semi-automatic pistol with its serial number removed.

The seized weapon

The weapon, which was found to be illegal, was complete with a magazine containing four 6,35 caliber cartridges. In addition to his arrest, the 16-year-old was also charged with receiving stolen goods.

After completing the formal procedures, the young man was taken to the Colli Aminei reception center for minors, which is now available to the judicial authorities.
