Naples, he had an arsenal at home: arrested by the Flying Squad

The Naples State Police today executed a precautionary detention order issued by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Naples North Court against a man seriously suspected of illegal possession of weapons, including weapons of war, and large quantities of drugs intended for sale.

The investigation, conducted by the Flying Squad, led to the seizure of numerous weapons and narcotics at the suspect's home and a garage.

During the search, two M70 AB2 rifles, known as AK-47s or Kalashnikovs, were found hidden inside an air conditioner in the attic of the home. Also found in the garage were three Smith & Wesson magnum-caliber revolvers, a Winchester 20-gauge model 12 pump-action shotgun, two magazines compatible with AK-47 rifles, various types of ammunition, and two Italian Army body armor.

The most significant discovery involved the recovery of a large quantity of drugs: approximately three kilograms of hashish, 600 grams of marijuana, and nearly two kilograms of cocaine. The investigation is part of a broader strategy coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office with the Flying Squad to combat illicit arms and drug trafficking in Naples.

The arrested man had previously been arrested for illegal possession of a 6,35 caliber Beretta semi-automatic pistol. It should be noted that the precautionary measure is subject to appeal and that the suspect is presumed innocent until a final sentence is reached.
